The Cockfosters area is situated on the North West of the Enfield Borough within easy access of the M25, junction 24. Of all the districts within the Borough, Cockfosters has the highest number of pensioners over 75. It also has the Borough’s largest Jewish population and has a local Synagogue. It is a fairly affluent ward bordering rural areas and at the same time providing good access into London on the Piccadilly tube line. Cockfosters also includes one of the largest open spaces within Enfield Borough (Trent Park), a conservation area and a local theatre.

Based on 2004 population surveys there were 5,030 households and 12,536 people living in the Cockfosters area of Enfield Borough. Around 74% of homes are owner-occupied.
